The Fine Art Prints
Inspired by Nature
The Fine Art Collection Series
Photographs, photomontages or drawings, produced, designed and printed by the artist, Marcel Jomphe.
The Plant Forms series are photomontages focusing on the building forms, the architecture, or the basic structures of wild plants. The work starts in the field, observing, studying, and collecting specimens, followed by photographing sessions in the studio where plants are captured on a white background and controlled lighting. The next step consists of the post-processing, and the interpretation and composition of the artwork; the printmaking ends the process, and completes the product.
A minimalist imagery style has been used in the series to highlight the plant forms. The soft light and misty texture brings a nice feeling of magnificence to the whole composition, and makes the plant part of its environment.
Fine Art Printmaking
As a visual artist, there is nothing quite like mastering the art of a fine art print. It is the crescendo of the entire experience of communication. There is a special reward and gratification when you see a favorite drawing or photograph masterfully printed into a fine art piece which can be enjoyed for generations to come.
The term "fine art" refers to art practiced mainly for its aesthetic value and its beauty rather than its functional value. It goes beyond documenting a subject, and puts the artist style and expressiveness above documentation, where the creativity and the intention of the artist is given primacy, hence making the object a piece of art.
