The series Abstracted Landscapes could also have been named Beyond the Landscape. It represents one of my favorite ways of taking photographs in the sense that I always find pleasure and satisfaction in capturing and creating montages of what I want an image to be rather than a literal representation of what is there at the moment. By excluding rather than adding elements, by simplifying the subject and by juxtaposing elements that reinforce our subject, we go to the essential, the language and the style become ours, the images become more intimate and take on a more subjective character.
